Beautiful necklace of graduated hand-shaped pieces of Chiapas amber. The silver beads are old sterling silver from Rajasthan, India, purchased from a private collector. All of the metal is sterling silver.

Mexican amber is among the rarest and highest qualities of amber in the world. The amber is of a long extinct species of tree and is probably about 25 million years old.
